Things you'll need:
o A modeling tool + model to export.
o The OpenCollada or ColladaMax / ColladaMaya plugin for your modeling tool.
o C4 Engine (Demo is sufficient)
How to find what you're looking for
o For the Maya section press CTRL + F and find the [MAYA] tag.
o For the 3dsMax section press CTRL + F and find the [3dsMAX] tag.

The steps to take to export objects (Maya Specific)
1.: Get OpenCollada from the OpenCollada Website (clickable) (http://opencollada.org/download.html) or use ColladaMaya (Clickable) (https://collada.org/mediawiki/index.php/ColladaMaya_OSS)
2.: Install the OpenCollada plugin for Maya
3.: Activate the plugin, this is done at Windows -> Settings/Preferences -> Plugin Manager. Look for ColladaMaya.mll and check BOTH boxes.
4.: Make a model or open an existing one.
5.: Click Modify -> Freeze Transformations & Edit -> Delete All By Type -> History
6.: Click Export, save as .DAE file.
6.1: If you want to export your textures as well, open the Options menu first and make sure to select ''Copy Textures'' in the OpenCollada settings menu. (as for other settings)
7.: Put the .DAE file in your C4 Project folder "%C4path%/import/PROJECT/models"
8.: Open C4, press ESCape, press ~, click NEW WORLD.
9.: Click World -> Import Scene
10.: Select your .DAE file
11.: World -> Save To Model Resource
12.: Tools -> Open Model
13.: Select your saved model file.
14.: Marvel at your creation in C4's model showtool.

4.: Make a model or open an existing one.
5.: (Optional) Use the Collapse Stack / Reset xform options.
6.: Click Export, save as .DAE file.
6.1: (Note that on 3dsmax the textures button is checked by default, you may wish to alter some settings though)
7.: Put the .DAE file in your C4 Project folder "%C4path%/import/PROJECT/models"
8.: Open C4, press ESCape, press ~, click NEW WORLD.
